Oregon State Hospital Stakeholders Meeting: 9/24/07
One of the authors of this site is a member of the newly-formed Oregon State Hospital Stakeholders. That person filed this report:On September 24,2007 the first Department of Human Services Oregon State Hospital Replacement Project Stakeholders Group meeting was held.
Thirty seven members were selected for this group. Six were listed as consumer/survivors, one represented the City of Salem, and one was designated as a “concerned citizen”. The rest were from agencies or state government.
We learned the due diligence report contained no “show stoppers” but the consultants continue to evaluate the site.
The architectural and consultant firms A&E and CMGC have been selected for this project. They specialize in mental health designs.
Charts handed out indicate there will be a 30 month period for design and a 30 month period for construction.
The next step will be to interview construction contractors.
Charettes (sp?) are planned sometime in November as well as more clearly defined role of the Stakeholders group.
