We expect the State of Oregon to announce this week its plans for the footprint of the new Oregon State Hospital in Salem.

This will tell us if the State plans to demolish the J Building, or parts of the J Building, to make way for the new structure.

Their announcement begins a three month “schematic design” process, during which time the public may make comments about the design, the footprint and the preservation of existing structures on the campus.

The announcement is expected to take place on Wednesday, April 9.
